Blessed Are the Peacemakers

FOCUS

An expert in something may not be effective in any measurable or meaningful way concerning whatever their field of expertise may be. One can seemingly know everything about something & yet be incapable even in the light of all that knowledge of producing anything actual or worthwhile concerning it.

This second-to-the last-beatitude we look at today will hopefully speak to our hearts as the previous seven hopefully have :-) … the call to be a peacemaker comes from the Prince of Peace Himself. The world will be a much better place if you & I listen to that He says & do it. When those around us experience God’s peace through us, it all but forces them to consider Him. May it be!

Peacemakers …

1. are uniquely identified by God as His children in His family.

God’s children are distinguished by their peacemaking presence & power.

Matthew 5:9 / Isaiah 9:6-7

2. are called to maintain their role & responsibility as His own.

We are called to keep the thermostat of our hearts set at “peace.”

1 Peter 3:11 Hebrews 12:14 Romans 12:18

Making It Real

1] Are you a peaceful peacemaker everywhere & always?

2] Can you see how vital & valued your role is in the world today?

Action Step

Identify at least one relationship &/or situation you know needs your

peacemaking presence to be on full display & prayerfully follow through.
