Sermon Tone Analysis

Our scripture reading this morning is going to be from 1st Corinthians chapter 7.

So please stand with me and honor of God's word and Daryl is going to come and read that for us.

1st Corinthians 7, verses 17 to 24.

1st Corinthians I'm way too loud.

Turn me down wrong.

Turn down even more.

Way too loud.

I want to blow your ears off people.

Okay.

1st Corinthians.

There we go, that's too much.

I don't know, maybe this sounds good.

We'll go with it.

First Corinthians 7 verses 17 to 24, But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one as the Lord has called each one.

So let him walk.

And so I ordained in all the churches was anyone called while circumsized, let him not become uncircumcised was anyone called while uncircumcised.

Let him not be circumcised circumcision, is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing but keeping the Commandments of God is what matters?

Let each man remain in the same calling, in which he was called.

Were you cold?

Why was slave?

Do not be concerned about it, but if you can be made free, rather use it.

For he was called in the Lord.

While a slave is the Lord's Friedman.

Likewise he was called, while free is Christ slave.

You were bought at a price do not become slaves of men Brethren.

Let each one remain with God in that state, in which he was called.

Are title, today is cold to be yourself cold to be yourself.

Let's begin with prayer because the way things are going we are really going to need it.

We needed every week but let's write.

Father, thank you so much for today.

Thank you for the privilege that it is to gather together.

Thank you for the privilege that it is to teach your word.

Thank you, Father, for the power and the strength that you give to us through your Holy Spirit, to not just hear your word but they put it into practice, father.

I ask that today.

Your word would go forth with power that it would speak to us in the midst of our difficulties, in our trials, and our struggles and father, we would be refreshed and encouraged and invigorated by Your Word.

I thought your dad and father, I ask that you would set me aside that you through your Holy Spirit, would communicate the truth of your word that it would be communicated with Clarity, with passion.

And with boldness, we thank you and we praise you father in Jesus precious name.

Going to slide that you see there has colored pencils with faces on them and I have here a collection of colored pencils with faces on them.

Every single one of these colored pencils is different, when you get a box of colored pencils.

They're not all one color right there, each one, a different color and they were made that way on purpose.

They remain that way because if we are going to have a colorful Acura picture, we need different colors which is blue and I go to use it and it goes.

Wait wait wait.

You need to know something before you use me.

I'm actually red.

I got this color is blue in this house but yeah but I really want to be a red pencil, so I'm going to be red.

Only one stage were so that is silly because somebody made this pencil and they designed this pencil to be blue.

Why would it want to be red?

Or maybe we start to use it and it says, you know what, I only work.

If you grip me exactly how I like to be gripped.

But if you hold it differently I'm just I'm not going to work because I'm the one using the pencil.

So it should work if I want it to work or we pick up the pencil does hey I just want you to know I don't color anymore because the last person who used me to color, they broke my leg and so I'm I've been hurt and so I'm just not going to work anymore.

How effectively when we be able to color a picture, given those situations?

We need the colors to be the advertised color and we need them to work and we need them to do what they were designed by their creator to do.

We have been designed by God, to do what he wants us to do, to be who he wants us to be, he has designed us to be used and we are going to be the most useful blessed and content when we are functioning according to his design.

Doing what he has called us to do.

We get into trouble when we believe that we can only serve God when our circumstances are, right?

I can only serve God if I'm a red so I can only serve God if I don't ever get hurt.

I can only serve God if he uses me the way that I want to be used.

Do you know who tells us?

Those lies our enemy.

We have an enemy and he doesn't want us to be useful, and he doesn't want us to be blessed, and he doesn't want us to be content until he lies to us.

And he tells us that happiness, is our highest goal, and he tells us that unhappiness Is going to be because our circumstances aren't, right?

He's going to take a look.

If you want to be happy, you need to just keep pursuing happiness.

And it is a goal that we will never attain.

If we are outside of the will of God,

There's an old song that says happiness is the Lord.

Happiness is to know the Savior living a life within his favor.

Having a change in mind behavior.

Happiness is the Lord.

And then it says, real Joy is mine.

No matter if teardrops fall because I have a secret is Jesus in my heart today.

Service for Christ.

Does not require a change in circumstance.

Service for Christ does not require a change in circumstance.

Sometimes we forgot I will serve you if I will serve you, when I will serve you unless

If we are not serving.

Now we're not going to be serving no matter how our circumstances change effective service We are going to learn today effective service demands that we followed to commands to commands.

And these two commands, really some of everything that Paul says, here in this passage.

And the first command is this be obedient Be obedient.

How many of you loved hearing that as a kid, right obey?

I was just my favorite and it wasn't Do any of us like it, any better now.

Not me.

and yet, this is what scripture do, you know, and if we're going to a bay, we need to understand what obedience is, what obedience is What is obedience, or how do we obey presents to us?

Three components of obedience.

First, and obedient, believer will submit an obedient believer will submit 1st Corinthians.

Chapter 7 verse 17, but have God has distributed to each one of the Lord has called each one, so let him walk.

And so I ordained in all the churches.

Poor use of this word.

He says God has distributed to each one.

God has given us an assignment.

Let's go back for a second, two are colored pencils.

If we're all colored pencils, then God has called each of us to be a different color, y to make a perfect picture.

God doesn't give all the colors to any one person, which means that if we want to make a color that isn't in our particular box, we have to work together to make that color.

God has distributed be separated the colors.

You don't have all the colors.
