Faith Vs. Logic W3

This series has exposed my BS - Belief System
The story of Lazarus points out our true view of who believe Jesus is…
From the disciples…
To Martha…
To Mary…
To the people around…
What have you given up on?
Who have you given up on?
How has your BS been shaken?
Remember I have a house…
Is my house built on the rock?
Is my house built on the ground with no foundation?
Situations/Storms come to challenge our BS?
Jesus asked Martha do you believe?
Jesus told them show me where you laid him…
His digging....
He wept because - He was grieved by their BS.....
John 11:37 ESV
But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this man from dying?”
John 11:38 ESV
Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
Again He is grieved…
Jesus came to the tomb
It was a cave, and a stone lay against it…
It was a cave....
The caves represent often stored or censored memories, our instincts, and all those feelings that can hardly leave out the light.
The caves constitute a natural refuge, a place to hide or hide something that we don't want to show. In short, the caves represent protection, both in real life and in your dreams.
In Gideons time they built strongholds in caves...
David hid in a cave...
Elijah was in a cave....
What’s in your cave?
John 11:39–40 ESV
Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”
Logic…
“Take away the stone.”
Take away the BS…
This is a picture of the power of Gods word!
He wants us to expose where we have we laid Him…
Take away the stone…
Remove the wall....
“Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God.”
John 11:41–42 ESV
So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.”
This is the reason....
This is the place that He wants us to be…
“That they may believe that you sent me.”
John 11:43–44 ESV
When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
The Gospel according to John 4. The Resurrection of Lazarus (11:38–44)

who, supposing that the graveclothes bound Lazarus so tightly he could not possibly, by himself, emerge from the tomb, speaks of ‘a miracle within a miracle’. John does not think in such terms, and in any case the graveclothes were not so restrictive. The corpse was customarily laid on a sheet of linen, wide enough to envelop the body completely and more than twice the length of the corpse. The body was so placed on the sheet that the feet were at one end, and then the sheet was drawn over the head and back down to the feet. The feet were bound at the ankles, and the arms were tied to the body with linen strips. The face was bound with another cloth (soudarion, a loan-word from the Latin sudarium, ‘sweat-cloth’, often worn in life around the neck). Jesus’ body was apparently prepared for burial in the same way (cf. 19:40; 20:5, 7). A person so bound could hop and shuffle, but scarcely walk. Therefore when Jesus commanded Lazarus to come forth, and the dead man came out, Jesus promptly gave the order, Take off the grave clothes and let him go.
