If you were to poll the community about the role of the church within our communities and society at large, the responses you get would be something like this:
“The church used to be the pillar of our society. The core tenants of our constitution and laws were based on the biblical moral law thus need to be upheld.”
“There needs to be a separation between church and state. Religion and or its principles do not belong in our governments or schools.”
“Christianity is for the weak minded. The belief in a white Jesus was forced on us black people anyway and used as a form of control. The idea was stolen and perverted from the original Egyptian story of Osiris, Isis and Horus.”
“The Bible says its all going to crash and burn anyway, so it doesn't matter what I think or do.”
But what truly is the role of the church in our communities and governmental spaces?
Every time we: (SMH syndrome)
We read the paper - smh,
we watch the news - smh,
scrolling through someones profile on social media - smh
family functions - smh
Just looking at our kids - smh
foolery on the corner of our neighborhood - smh
People in the church - SMH
Our go-to response is one that we are often taught which is prayer. Prayer does work and is very effective, however faith is a key component in prayer and we often forgo or pass on the works part of our faith.
What if simply praying just isn’t enough?
What if you are to be the catalyst for the change to occur?
The Standard Operating Procedure Template
The Standard Operating Procedure Template
Studying the life of Jesus and how he did ministry should be our core SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) template.
Jesus first humbled and sanctified himself
He then prayed for protection of Gods people and for his father to give him and the church strength to do ministry.
Then he went out and worked the mission in all areas of society - Challenging the status quo of the Public and private sectors, entertainment, the rich, and the lowly.
Jesus was not worried about offending others, he was focused on spreading and offering the Truth. The Word of God will offend all by itself. How else will there be change?
On the surface one might think Jesus was teaching rebellion. However on the contrary, how can change occur if it doesn’t deviate from the herd practicing rebellion against God?
Being the hand and feet of Jesus means doing what is required in your capacity to bring change is ones life at that moment if you can.
James 4:17 If you know what the right thing to do is and you dont do it, it is considered a sin
Lets be Honest, The Church Got Comfortable Doing the Absolute Minimum
Lets be Honest, The Church Got Comfortable Doing the Absolute Minimum
The Church used to play a major part in society just a few short decades ago. Then somehow we bought into this idea that the church is to be separate from all other aspects of society. We now just focus on feeding the hungry, clothing those in need, and paying a bill or two. Point goes to Satan
In a country where the majority of the population claims Christianity, we have allowed all kinds of luciferian public policy to get passed, enacted upon, and then have the nerve to get mad about it. Sure we pray for God to guide our leaders but we chose not to take a stand and push back. Another point for Satan
We have allowed objective biblical morality to be substituted for demonic -Alister Crawley - “do what thou wilt” subjective morality. Yet another point for Satan
With our guard down and our spiritual eyes dimmed and in many cases turned off, we are unable to see the spiritual root cause of the issues of life. We are swinging at a the air and false enemies (each other). Smoke and mirrors / cloak and daggers. Satan moves in for the kill
Even our prayers reflect a powerless state of mind. Instead of asking God if and how our role is in a given situation that has our concern, we simply ask God to do all the work for us or to use other people as we passively spectate. -Check mate!
Didn’t Jesus say that we can do even greater things than the works He did if we but believe in Him? John 14:12
Faith Requires Action
Faith Requires Action
Everything in this faith walk requires an action. Even faith itself requires an action of one not to doubt. Even demons recognize and believe there is only one true God and Jesus and his father are One! James 2:19 , Deut. 4:6 , John 10:30
Faith without some follow up response is utterly useless - its dead! James 2:20
Whats the point of praying for someone in need of food and you send them on their way still hungry?
Whats the point of praying about wayward children if we don’t offer mentorship?
Whats the point of praying about our government if we choose not to get involved in the policy conversation?
Whats the point of praying for God to bless us with a husband or wife if we don’t prepare to be one and make ourselves available to be seen?
The Point - It time to Occupy!
The Point - It time to Occupy!
God has given every one of us gifts and a personality to match the very thing that God would have us to do that contributes to the mission. Don’t allow the devil to make you feel that you are unworthy, not ready, fearful of backlash or ridicule. If the prayers of Jesus were adequate enough for our redemption, Jesus would have never gone onto that cross.
Using Luke 19:13 as an example to occupy, engage , do business. The Lord has entrusted us with His Word, His Holy Spirit, gifts and talents. It is time to occupy our communities, our jobs, our schools, our government. It is time to occupy our friends and families lives! All to build the kingdom of God - not just in number but in strength!
Living and teaching openly the Word of God.
Talking to the drug dealers to lay off the kids
Applying for those political positions, so you can be the Christian voice of reason that God can use to usher in biblical principles thats desperately needed.
Sharing testimonies, witnessing to others to build spiritual growth in others, touching and agreeing knowing that God is greater than any sickness or disease.
Faith to stand up publicly for what’s right in the face of persecution or even prosecution.
God desires us to utilize the power that he has given us to take back what the devil has stolen.
