Giving away of the bride

David / Render standing up there
We are together at this place and at this time to celebrate with Michael and Annie their marriage.
The Bible, the Word of God, by which we as believers in Jesus Christ live, tells us that marriage is an honored event.
For the reason of love a man and a woman shall leave the home of their birth to share in love and trust and build a home of their own.
Paul tells us there are many events and different feelings in life. Three are eternal: faith, hope, and love.
But love, the love that is of God and from God, is the greatest of them all. Without the love of God we would be empty people and lack the power to face life and its problems.
Nor would we have any real hope for tomorrow.
Who gives this woman to be married to this man?

Intro / What is marriage? Gospel - Render

Together in the eyes of God cont./ Communion - Render

Short Prayer - Render

(David walks back to the front - Render is seated after prayer)

Challenge to Couple / Bible Verse - David

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
1 Corintios 13:4–8 ESV
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
This passage of scripture describes the greatest form of love anyone could ever express
This is a self sacrificing love
It is a love that chooses it’s target and never lets go
It doesn’t expect anything in return
This love continues despite the other party’s behavior or response
This love was shown by Jesus as He died on the cross while we were yet sinners
This is the love this world needs today
This is the love that our marriages need today
It’s easy to see love as a feeling that comes and goes
But true love is action, commitment, service, sacrifice
It is laying your life down daily for the one you chose to pursue
Michael, there will be days when you don’t feel like loving your new bride, do it any way
There will be days where she could be considered unlovely
And on those days you must make the decision to live out the commitment you made on May 28th, 2021 in Chattanooga, TN
Do not seek your own, do not be arrogant, rude, boastful or envious
Seek Annie’s wellbeing, humble yourself, be kind, be patient and God will bless your marriage for it
Choose to love like Jesus loves us, unconditionally and unselfishly
Annie, I’m sure there will be more days where he is unlovely
There will be days where it isn’t easy to love this wonderful husband you are about to marry
Many times a short response, a rude word will cause you to want to seek revenge
There will be plenty of times where the “feelings” fade away and all you are stuck with is a decision
I encourage you to remember and live out the commitment you made on May 28th, 2021 in Chattanooga, TN
Seek to serve him
Seek to make him a success
Choose to not be self centered or to seek your own
Choose to love like Jesus loves us, unconditionally and unselfishly

Vows  - David

Michael and Annie having come to me to be married and believing your testimony that marriage is the will of God for your lives I would like to ask you to turn, hold hands, and look each other in the eye and share your vows.

Michael

Annie, I love you as Christ loves us,
unconditionally, unselfishly, and eternally.
I receive you as my wife, my helpmate, a gift from God.
Using God’s Word as my guide,
I promise to be the head and spiritual leader of our home,
to protect, respect,
cherish, and provide for you.
I commit myself to do these things through the power of the Holy Spirit
for all of my life.

Annie

Michael, I love you as Christ loves us,
unconditionally, unselfishly, and eternally.
I receive you as my husband.
I will submit to you as my head
and accept you as my spiritual leader.
I promise to honor, respect,
exhort, trust,
and provide a loving and a happy home for you.
I commit myself to do these things through the power of the Holy Spirit
for all of my life.
Michael and Annie face me

Rings - David

These rings are a circle, a symbol of the never ending love that you have promised to each other. Let me remind you both that the love only endures as you grow together in Christ’s love and seek to honor and serve Him.

Michael

Annie, in token and pledge
of our constant faith and abiding love,
as your husband
I promise to live out these vows.

Annie

Michael, in token and pledge
of our constant faith and abiding love,
as your wife
I promise to live out these vows.

Kiss / Pronounce Bride & Groom - David
