2 Corinthians 10:3–5 NKJV
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

1) The mind and the heart are where feelings occur.

Focus Verse:

2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV 1900
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
where do we imagine things?
in our minds right?
there are a lot of people in the world (and we are all sometimes guilty of this) that mix up the priority of feeling over facts. We give our feelings the same credibility as a provable facts.
I deal with a lot of people in my counseling load that that Think they can read my mind. I hate it when that happens! it waste so much time! first of all they rarely tell me that they have had the conversation in their heads. the next thing is it takes so much time to undo what the person has done in there head in my name without any input from the real me!
this is why we have taken the weeks to talk about what is in our hearts and mind and what we put there.
there is an enemy of your soul. he is satan, he wants to destroy you.
John 10:10 NKJV
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
he comes to destroy you.
he does that silently is through our thoughts.
we treat our feelings as facts.
they are private facts because no one knows how we feel.

2. Our carnal hearts & Minds are not to be trusted.

Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV
9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
Acts 15:8 NKJV
8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us,
Romans 8:6 NKJV
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Ephesians 4:17–18 NKJV
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;
the Prophet Jeremiah tells us that the carnal heart will deceive you.
our thinking impacts our feelings and our feelings impact our thinking
Luke 18:17 NKJV
17 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”
when we come to christ we come as children; learning how to think and feel again.
your body my be groan.
your memory may be full of History and experience.
your judgement is likely not accurate.
why? because you are moving on old software.
Romans 12:1–2 NKJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
