18 As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged him earnestly that he might remain with him. 19 Jesus did not let him but told him, “Go home to your own people, and report to them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 So he went out and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and they were all amazed.
This is a passage that comes with a lot of truth for our lives. It is something that we can take literal or figurative.
see this is the passage that Most of us know it the one where Christ cast the demons out of the man and puts them in to pigs and and drown them.
First thing we need to look at it the man.
The Man
The Man
1 They came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gerasenes. 2 As soon as he got out of the boat, a man with an unclean spirit came out of the tombs and met him. 3 He lived in the tombs, and no one was able to restrain him anymore—not even with a chain—4 because he often had been bound with shackles and chains, but had torn the chains apart and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains, he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones.
I want us to look at this man because he does relate to us more than we know.
See while this man had demons we see that he couldn’t be restrained. we see that he lived in a tomb. he would cut himself with stones.
Think about it when we are going through tough times in our lives how many of us process it by crying or cutting. How many of us feel like it is never going to end that we can never be restrained.
The next thing we should look at it the name of Christ
Name Of Christ
Name Of Christ
6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and knelt down before him. 7 And he cried out with a loud voice, “What do you have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you before God, don’t torment me!” 8 For he had told him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”
See the demon knew who christ was and knew the power in who he was.
This something that we tend to forget is that there is power in Christ and we are given this power when we accept him and invite him in to our lives.
He has the power to overcome whatever it is you are going through. He has the power to help you when you feel alone, unworthy, useless. All you have to do is call on his name and he will give you comfort and rest.
Finally we need to tell everybody about his power.
Tell Everybody

He tells him it is time to tell everybody that you made it through the trial that you are going through. WE are called to rejoice anytime we see the work of God happen. How can we if we never know when it happens.
