Wouldnt it be nice
Wouldn’t it be Nice!
James 1:21-24KJV
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Wouldn’t it be nice, if we could live however we wanted to live with whatever sin or wrong that might be in our hearts and still yet be saved just because we said some words a long time ago?
There is a certain theology or belief being spread among Christians today a feeling that I can live with sins of one kind or another and still make it to heaven! And I fear that is stealing away souls Some who want to believe this way they call it “once in grace always in grace” I truly hope that I can stroll through heaven someday and admit I was wrong but I fear I won’t be able to do that
Mark 4:4-8KJV
4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
Some fell by the wayside Jesus tells us
Mark 4:15KJV
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
Luke 8:12KJV
12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
These weren’t saved the ones we go to and try to win to the Lord yet they never accept His salvation.
But can a saved person be saved no matter what he does?
Verse 5 some fell on stony ground!
Mark 4:16-17KJV
16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
One thing many farms in Bath County seem to have a lot of is rocks and those who work on those farms know that to raise a crop one thing that you have to do is get those rocks out of the field!
Jesus didn’t say that stones represented sins but that these “stones” were not something that you could live with in your life. They might be habits, finances, temper, they could even be pride or vanity!!!!!!
Paul wrote Timothy and mentioned several that did just that to him!
2 Timothy 4:9-10KJV
9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me: 10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
Some fell among thorns!
These too were at one time saved but now no longer! Verse 7
Mark 4:18-19KJV
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
These were saved but they fell away because of worldly things these also in the end won’t make it. They also go to a devils hell!
Kentucky is known for a lot of things being invented here but one was over in Paris Ky. Bourbon Whiskey was invented by a Baptist minister!
A lot of folks want to believe there are types of Christians preaching type (no sin in life) church leader type (few sins) member or just once and while (who cares) that is false!
Verse 8 who can make it? What chance do I have? Get the things out of your lives that are bringing you down and you will be on fertile soil!
Mark 4:20KJV
20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
