Hope for all 1

Text: 1 Peter 3:15 through 1 Peter 3:16 (NLT)
15Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if you are asked about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. 16But you must do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak evil against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

 Intro: The most widespread largest lie sold to the American people comes straight from the mouth of Satan himself. It declares that it is naïve, or foolish for a person to believe that he or she can have absolute faith in God. That there will be anything for us in the eternal.

    There is good news. Any person with a desire for more than a meaningless life, and a hopeless eternity can crush this cruel lie of the devil and live with a rock solid hope. Our text commands us to be “always ready to give an answer to every man  that asks you a reason of the hope that is within you.” It always begins with truth from another world. You will never be a person of hope for earthly reasons or for the promises of men.

I.  The Truth About God

a. God reveals Himself

20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2.  In Scripture through:

a. The exactness of the prophecies given

b.  Truth revealed before its time

(1) The circulation of the blood

(2)  The circle of the earth etc.

3. In Jesus Christ

a. His virgin birth. God came to us

B His miracles

c. His resurrection
