The upward call requires action on our part. Paul uses strong language in this passage Philippians 3:13-14 to emphasize that he is giving his all to reach up to the Lord. He is an “athlete of Christ” in his pursuit of the Lord. This message opens the series with the first of 5 passages from the book of Isaiah.
