Challenged by that sacrifice

2 Corinthians 10:31

Step on some toes here this afternoon and then quickly get out of the way.

Sacrifice is getting more rare and rare in this me too world

Word means to devote with loss

On a world today of gain, gain, gain the concept of sacrifice is getting less and less and less.

Romans 12:1 KJV 1900

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

We think just making it to a service here and there is a sacrifice.

The early church, the doors were open it was church time.

But today, so many distractions and honestly churches have set the bar so low for the people that just showing up is an achievement

You make it to all week, you are a super Christian.

That’s just reasonable activity for the Christian

Today we celebrate the lives and memory of those that gave all, supreme sacrifice.

For our nation.

How much more should we as soldiers for Christ

2 Timothy 2:3 KJV 1900

3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Sacrifice for him.

Look out how devoted to him am I, How sold out am I for the cause of Christ.

Challenge ourselves to be the Christians that He so desires us to be.
