What Paul starts to teach is not new, but repeated information.

Joy isn’t found in flesh.

Joy is found by faith.

Why joy (leading to honor) is not connected to circumstances.

This is something that needs to be on repeat.

Key phrase: Rejoice in the Lord (imperative). Comparing his personal story - I was the best at the flesh and it was poop.

But death to the flesh by faith brought me to the resurrection life in Jesus!
