Philippians 2:3–5 NKJV

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

What is is to have the mind of Christ?

Well before we talk about what it is lets talk about what it is not

1. be not double minded ,- having a form of godlessness but denying the power

James 4:4 NKJV

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

1 John 2:15 NKJV

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. Isaiah 29:13 NKJV

Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

Does this ring true in your heart can you identify with being double minded

Jesus and pharasees

James 4:8 NKJV

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

James 4:9 NKJV

Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.

James 4:10 NKJV

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

So what is it to have the mind of christ

Last year we preached on loving god with all your heart mind a strength

I preached a messege on loving God with your mind

The main point of that message is to love God is to love jesus Is to love His Word

For He is the Word found in John Ch1

That we cannot say we love Christ and neglect His word for we cannot know him we cannot have a relationship with him without spending time with him in His word and Prayer

Spurgeioun said its not the sinlessness of a man that marks a true believer but the grieving over ones sin

To have the mind of Christ is to Live for Him To do as he has commanded to love the things He Loves to hate the things he hates to submit our will to the father to put others before ourselves

To live in servantude to Him ad His Kingdom

In John Jesus says that we will do His works

If we have the mind of Christ we will love our neighbors as Christ loves

care for the needy

care for the lost

Care that goes beyond our Home that goes beyond our home church that goes out to a dead and dying world that we would be the light in the midst of darkness
