Why do we worship?
Why do we worship?
One of the things that we really struggle during this
Because God deserves it? Why?
Because God designed us for it? How Why?
Our adoration of God
It’s about God and only about Him. In a time where our efforts are concentrated on me, others , worship is opposite of that. Man cannot understand worship, any person that is being worshipped will fall because he cannot handle the pressure and pride.
Worship is our fuel, centered on prayer - it’s a combustion.
Samuel addresses the heart of the matter here in 1 Samuel.
22But Samuel declared:
“Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as in obedience to His voice?
Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice,
and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams.
23For rebellion is like the sin of divination,
and arrogance is like the wickedness of idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,
He has rejected you as king.”
What if young people started to pick up and instrument and seek the lord, in their worship and adoration they begin to find god. 2 Corinthians 3:13-18 says, “We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
If we keep fixing our attention on God, will we be transformed into his image
What’s the goal of christian living?
How did our corporate worship with God change our lives?
Is it about the lyrics, or the chords or the right song. What if it’s our heart turned towards him, coming with holy expectation to meet the living God? Are we willing to take a risk as such.
“The ability to hear what God is saying, to see what God is doing, and to move in the realm of the miraculous comes as an individual develops the same intimacy with and dependence upon the Father (as Jesus had)” - John Wimber
You cannot develop an intimate relationship with God without setting aside time to communicate with him. Numbers 8:1, 9:1 Moses spoke with God (numbers7:89). God spoke to moses face to face, as a person speaks with a friend - talking, listening at the same time, watching for each other’s reaction. In the age of the HS, you are in an even better position than moses, you no longer have to go to a particular place, like moses did but can be with God wherever you are. By the spirit of adoption, you re brought into an intimate andeternal conversation with God.
CTA:
Christians > 5. Stop living on old experience, old breakthroughs. Make it your responsibility and goal to seek the Lord.
Questions for the day:
- Why you praise, why you worship. Who do you know God to be? Why is He worth praising? Write that down.
