There are a couple people that I thought would be here and are not.
[Where am I at emotionally, physically, spiritually and so on?]
Honestly, Bekah and I often didn’t see things the same way but I did not foresee this happening the way it did.
We are a team that values relationships, our whole mode of care is built around this idea. Our theology is built around this understanding… I believe God is relational.
So it makes sense, that relationally, there is much to reflect on and even grieve with what has taken place this past week.
Bekah and Ashley aren’t here with us.
The women’s ministry is completely altered as a result.
I want to begin our time by reflecting on this passage in Jeremiah 17:5-8
Jeremiah 17:5–8 ESV
5 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. 6 He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
We’ve been through a pandemic.
So much uncertainty, so much to worry about. T
he healthy of ourselves and our loved ones…
the well-being of the Refuge.
Now the resignation of two of our staff and the pausing of one of our ministries.
This is significant and challenging.
Let’s pause and reflect on the past year and the past week (Questions, Comments, Encouragements, Challenges):
All of these are welcome
