1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

THIS PASSAGE OF SCRIPTURES IS A PICTURE WHAT WAS TO BE A FUTURE SOCIETY.

ITS PICTURE IS A GLIMPSE OF WHAT THE LAST DAYS OF HUMAN RECORD WILL BE.

WHAT SEEMS TO BE SHOCKING FOR US AS WE READ AND HEAR THIS PASSAGE IS THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SOCIETY WE LIVE IN TODAY.

SELDOM DO WE EVER TAKE A SEAT AND STUDY THE GODLESS MARKS AND MANNER OF TODAY'S SOCIETY.,

BUT YET THIS PASSAGE OF GOD’S HOLY AND SACRED WRIT DISCUSSES THE GODLESS MARKS OF THE LAST DAYS PAINTS A PICTURE OF REALITY THAT ALL OF US CAN RELATE TO DURING THIS DAY AND TIME.

WE HAVE TO ASK OURSELVES, COULD IT BE POSSIBLE THAT THE LORD’S RETURN IS AT HAND.

Paul wrote to the Church at Thessalonica telling them that “The times and the seasons, brethren, I had no need to write them,  For you know perfectly well that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night”.

As Paul writes to Timothy he is nearing the end of his life, He’s in prison and he’s about to die.

He writes these letters or Epistles to His son in the Ministry, Timothy.

2 Timothy is his last letter, if you read chapter 4:6 you will see Paul says” I am already being poured out as a drink offering and the time of my departure is at hand, I have fought a good fight I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Like a good father does he wants to give instructions to his son in the ministry on how to be a good leader.

Paul says something to Timothy that has been on my heart for a while now as it relates to us living in Perilous times.

HE SAYS, WHEN WE GET TO THE LAST DAYS.

WHAT IS THE LAST DAYS? ITS THE TIME BEFORE GOD COMES AND EXECUTE JUDGEMENT, ITS THE SEASON BEFORE JESUS COMES BACK,

HE SAYS WHEN THE LAST DAYS COME, PERILOUS TIMES WILL SHOW UP, THAT WORD PERILOUS MEANS DIFFICULT…

MY BROTHERS AND SISTER YOU MADE NOT REALIZE IT BUT WE ARE LIVING IN SOME DIFFICULT TIMES, THESE ARE TROUBLING DAYS.

GOD HAS SUSTAINED US IN THE PANDEMIC BUT THOUSANDS OF CHURCH ACROSS THE NATION ARE CLOSING,

GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TRY TO WEIGHT THE CHURCHES DOWN WITH THERE LEGISLATION AND THEY TO BIND THE PEOPLE OF GOD.
