Intro into our topic

We have been seeing in Acts that he fist church learned how to become active, and do the work of God, spreading the word of God, and introducing the world to God. Today I want to look at:
What we are in this present time suposed to be doing for the kingdom of Christ.
What each of our role in this mission is, how to begin to search out how to know what our role in the mission is
Lastly I want to look at do we really do the jobs were called to do? Some reason why or why not

What is our role?

The question becomes what does this mean to us? What is our role in the world some 2000 years later?
Mathew tells us we are to:
Matthew 28:19–20 NASB95
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
So what is our role in this day?
Most of us do not and will not live an area that no has heard of Jesus, in fact most of us live in an area that says “we have heard enough of Jesus and we are not interested” typicaly because they have not heard the corect words of Jesus or are just so disntrested buy how the church behaves they want nothing to do with anything acosiated with it, includeing Jesus. However we do “go” every day, we go to work, we go and meet with friends, we go all over the place the question becomes do you make disciples?
Before we can answer this we have a big question that needs to be address, how? Most of us feel:
We are not ready
We don’t know enough
We don’t even know what that looks like
All of these are true, but neither were the apostles. That is one of the amazing things about our God, He has granted us the power to do this. This is not like our work, or task you are learning where you are dependent on your own understanding, for those in Christ, God has granted you with servant gifts that are all complimentary to to the mission of making decibels.
The reasion to go make deciples is because of what Jesus did, so the work is done, or mesage is simple, tell people God has made the way of salvation for any one, the path is complet, all you have to do is agree to go on the path.
Additionaly we each have been granted gifts to help the universal and local church on this mission. We see some of these gifts listed in
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
This entire chapter is to point out that we all have our place in God’s church. The bible calls this unity, and without it we would fail. This unity means that we all have a place in the mission of creating decibels, even if we are all not a specific job like a teacher or evangelist, but that doesn’t mean that we all do are not to talk about God to other.

What is my role?

before we can talk about doing we first must need to talk about what my role is? Each one of us has a role, but learning what that role is can take time. There is no cosmo quiz to take, I don’t have a special sheet, I don’t even have scriptures to take you to fill out a question and answer form, to learn what your role is you have only one thing to do, pray. As all things we start with prayer. God will show you what your role is you just have to ask Him. And then you have to believe what He shows you.
Talk about my story becoming a deacon
How do you get good at your role? like most thing buy doing. Where do we do them? Everywhere. This is the point, not all things are done here at church. Church is great place to learn and develop these skills, but not all jobs are done here. In fact most is not, lets be honest about something, how may people in todays world who have never heard about God will come to a church to learn? Practically none. This is why our work is not really in here, it’s in the world.
