HOW TO PRAY A BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER
A breakthrough prayer is when you’ve done everything you can do — if there is anything you can do, it’s not time for a breakthrough prayer yet.
(GOD IS THERE ANYTHING I HAVEN’T DONE I SHOULD DO?) — Go to mentors
DON’T ASK GOD TO BLESS YOUR LAZINESS — You don’t need a breakthrough you need to study
WORK LIKE IT’S ALL UP TO YOU THEN PRAY LIKE IT’S ALL UP TO GOD

J-PHAT
2 Chronicles 20:1–4 (NLT)
1 After this, the armies of the Moabites, Ammonites, and some of the Meunites declared war on Jehoshaphat. 2 Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army from Edom is marching against you from beyond the Dead Sea. They are already at Hazazon-tamar.” (This was another name for En-gedi.) 3 Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting. 4 So people from all the towns of Judah came to Jerusalem to seek the Lord’s help.
MAKE PRAYER YOUR FIRST MOVE
ALL THE PEOPLE KNEW WHERE TO GO — COVID GOT PEOPLE OUT OF CHURCH HABIT — MAKE CHURCH A PRIORITY — YOUR LIFE SHOULDN’T NEED BREAKTHROUGH AT ALL TIMES
HERE IS THE BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER
2 Chronicles 20:5–9 (NLT)
5 Jehoshaphat (YHWH JUDGES — YOU WILL ANSWER TO GOD FOR HOW YOU LEAD)
stood before the community of Judah and Jerusalem in front of the new courtyard at the Temple of the Lord. 6 He prayed, “O Lord, God of our ancestors, you alone are the God who is in heaven. You are ruler of all the kingdoms of the earth. You are powerful and mighty; no one can stand against you! 7 O our God, did you not drive out those who lived in this land when your people Israel arrived? And did you not give this land forever to the descendants of your friend Abraham? 8 Your people settled here and built this Temple to honor your name. 9 They said, ‘Whenever we are faced with any calamity such as war, plague, or famine, (COVID or Racial riots…) we can come to stand in your presence before this Temple where your name is honored. We can cry out to you to save us, and you will hear us and rescue us.’
REMEMBER HOW GOD SAVED YOU BEFORE AND THANK HIM IN ADVANCE THAT HE WILL DO IT AGAIN
YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS BEFORE I DID — YOU HAVE A PLAN — HE DID IT BEFORE HE CAN DO IT AGAIN
2 Chronicles 20:12–17 (NIV)
12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” ( ISN’T THAT A GOOD LINE? YOU DON’T ALWAYS HAVE TO KNOW WHAT TO DO) 13 All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord. 14 Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel

son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly. 15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’ ”
TAKE UP YOUR POSITION — WHEN YOU NEED BREAKTHROUGH DON’T GIVE UP YOUR POSITION
THERE IS A MIDDLE VERSE IN ALL THE OLD TESTAMENT… ITS THIS ONE “THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD”
MIDDLE VERSE IN ALL THE BIBLE?
8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people.
ASK GOD FOR A BREAKTHROUGH BECAUSE THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S
2 Chronicles 20:18–21 (NLT)
18 Then King Jehoshaphat bowed low with his face to the ground. And all the people of Judah and Jerusalem did the same, worshiping the Lord. 19 Then the Levites from the clans of Kohath and Korah stood to praise the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud shout. 20 Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.” 21 After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. (THEY PUT THE CHOIR IN THE FRONT....) This is what they sang: “Give thanks to the Lord; his faithful love endures forever!”
PUT YOUR PRAISE AT THE FOREFRONT OF YOUR MARCH FORWARD
GOD I PRAISE YOU — I THANK YOU — I MAY HAVE A BAD SITUATION BUT MY BAD SITUATION DOESN’T HAVE ME
2 Chronicles 20:22–26 (NLT)
22 At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves. 23 The armies of Moab and Ammon turned against their allies from Mount Seir and killed every one of them. After they had destroyed the army of Seir, they began attacking each other. 24 So when the army of Judah arrived at the lookout point in the wilderness, all they saw were dead bodies lying on the ground as far as they could see. Not a single one of the enemy had escaped. (THE BATTLE LITERALLY WAS THE LORDS — TAKE YOUR POSITION AND WORSHIP THE LORD — HE’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU) 25 King Jehoshaphat and his men went out to gather the plunder. They found vast amounts of equipment, clothing, and other valuables—more than they could carry. There was so much plunder that it took them three days just to collect it all! 26 On the fourth day they gathered in the Valley of Blessing, which got its name that day because the people praised and thanked the Lord there. It is still called the Valley of Blessing today.
GOD WILL NOT ONLY DELIVER YOU, HE WILL BLESS YOU
24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
THANKING GOD AFTER HE GIVES YOU SOMETHING IS GRATITUDE. THANKING GOD BEFORE HE GIVES IT IS FAITH
