Psalm 5

God Listens (1-3)

The only reason to ask God to listen is that we know He does.

God is always a perfect listener.

We can have confidence is bring our requests to God through Christ. (Hebrews 4:14-16)

How could we not want to bring everything to Him when we know He hears us?

God Hates (vs4-6)

God’s word is consistent about his hatred (Proverbs 6:16-19).

God’s hatred may be unsettling but it is also something we want to

be true.

Everything God hates is also terrible for us.

Knowing God’s justice will be done frees us to move on and continue to serve Him.

God Causes Joy (vs7-8, 11-12)

Seeing sin in the world also reminds us of our own.

We can have confidence in the love of God shown in Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:8)

The cross shows us the justice and love of God.

If we consider the magnitude of what God has done, we will

be joyful.
