Promises for the tough things in life

Isaiah 43:1–2 NKJV
But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.
Its important to understand the context of this promise.
But now… introduces the context.
God’ people (Israelites) had failed to listen to the voice of God. God spoke through many of His prophets to the people Isaiah being one of them.
Warning after warning God pleaded with His people to repent and turn around. They refused and as a result they were taken captive
So what now?
God Speaks a Promise that is preceded by information about who made them. who created them.
God’s promise for tough times is presented within a context that exposes the foundation of the promise.
Who created you? Who came up with this person that is you?
God first calls his people by their previous name… Jacob (heel, supplanter. at birth Jacob came out holding his brothers heel)
God says O Jacob. Jacob was the man who cheated his brother out of the blessing.
Jakob was the man who fled is father in laws house in the night for fear.
Jakob was fearful and afraid of his brother Esau.
Then After reminding the old man who created Him God Called him by his new name.
Isreal (Struggle/contend persevere) God reminds Him of who he really is.
God says in Psalms 139 that He did .
Words to remember in tough times:
Who made you? What for? What is your true frame?
Every thing that is made comes with labels from the manufacture… Made in the USA… made for this or can hold so much weight...
Psalm 139:15–16 NKJV
My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
Before you and I were made there was a plan… There was a framework a structure that God started in us.
God has been committed to you before you were you!
A builder will build according to the demands that the building will need to endure. If God made you he made you for this moment for this time for this season.
Whatever you are going through “ Fear Not”
God steps in this situation with a powerful statement
On the cross Jesus died to pay for all of our sins. We have been fully restored to God!
I have redeemed you!
Redeemed also means ransomed you. in other words God has through Jesus paid your ransom whatever the demand that has been put on you has been paid.
No one or no thing can hold any demand on your Life!
Based on this statement God reminds us of our name...
I have called you by name...
God knows who you were before, He knows who you are know and He has chosen you to be His
“You are Mine!”
Says God
God’ Promise to us today is powerful!
Even if everything in this life or world fails
We have an everlasting promise from God that we are His and no demand can be placed on us.
