Psalm 22:3-5

The theme of v. 3-5 is that the Holy One seems to have abandoned His people.
“You are enthroned as the Holy One, you are the praise of Israel”
The better translation of v.3 “You are Holy, you inhabit the praise of Israel”
How does God “inhabit the praise of His people”
When we praise Him God “witnesses with our spirit that we are His Children”
When we praise Him God identifies with us.
When we praise Him God corporately we experience the reality of the Holy One
When we praise Him God fills us with a sense of His presence
V. 4-5 A history of TRUST
This portion of Psalm 22 shows us David’s perspective of history as God interacted, guided and affirmed Israel. He looks at the track record of God’s dealing with His people historically and comes to the conclusion that the HOLY ONE can be trusted.
v. 4-5 In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.
22:4–5. David’s ancestors, putting their trust in the Lord, prayed in their distress and were delivered by Him. So David was encouraged to keep on praying
God’s History with His people: He will carry you through !
