Matthew 28:18–20 NKJV
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

1. We are called to make Disciples not Converts.

converts get into culture. Disciples get into change.
when you are a cultural christian you understand the lingo.
we may even where the T-Shirts Listen to air one or KGNZ.

2. The root word for Discipleship is discipline.

Discipline encompasses the concepts of correction, punishment, and education. Discipline may be given by parents, Christians, or even God.

Romans 6:13 NKJV
13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
1 Peter 2:11–12 NKJV
11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, 12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.
1 Peter 4:1–3 NKJV
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.
2 Timothy 2:21–22 NKJV
21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
in the church we have this idea that all we need to do is come to the alter or stand and God will do the work.
one of the reasons that we think that is because often we have brown delivered.

3. Discipleship will cost you everything.

Luke 14:26–27 NKJV
26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
Of course this verse doesn't mean to hate in a literal sense; it means to make your discipleship your ultimate priority.
Matthew 15:4 NKJV
4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’
Matthew 19:19 NKJV
19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
Luke 18:20 NKJV
20 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ”
so Jesus is talking about priority.
Discipleship has to be the 1st priority.

4. we want to get to the end of our race well.

Matthew 25:21 NKJV
21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
