Work:
Diligence:
To cut, sharp instrument -> being decisive
Joel 3:14 NASB95
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
Proverbs 10:4 NASB95
4 Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Proverbs 12:24 NASB95
24 The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack hand will be put to forced labor.
Proverbs 12:27 NASB95
27 A lazy man does not roast his prey, But the precious possession of a man is diligence.
Proverbs 13:4 NASB95
4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made fat.
Proverbs 21:5 NASB95
5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, But everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.
Laziness:
Judges 18:8–10 NASB95
8 When they came back to their brothers at Zorah and Eshtaol, their brothers said to them, “What do you report? 9 They said, “Arise, and let us go up against them; for we have seen the land, and behold, it is very good. And will you sit still? Do not delay to go, to enter, to possess the land. 10 “When you enter, you will come to a secure people with a spacious land; for God has given it into your hand, a place where there is no lack of anything that is on the earth.”

v.26

Proverbs 10:26 NASB95
26 Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy one to those who send him.
Proverbs 31:6–7 NASB95
6 Give strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to him whose life is bitter. 7 Let him drink and forget his poverty And remember his trouble no more.
Psalm 69:21 NASB95
21 They also gave me gall for my food And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
Proverbs 19:15 NASB95
15 Laziness casts into a deep sleep, And an idle man will suffer hunger.

SINGLE PROVERB. Type: Tricolon (10:26)

10:26 The humor of this proverb well compares the irritation of an unreliable person with that of vinegar in the mouth and smoke in the eyes. Whereas the smoke and vinegar are irritable to the physical person, the sluggard is irritable to the emotion of the individual and to the fabric of society. The double simile in a structure of three cola gives greater force to the proverb.211

Proverbs 26:6–10 NASB95
6 He cuts off his own feet and drinks violence Who sends a message by the hand of a fool. 7 Like the legs which are useless to the lame, So is a proverb in the mouth of fools. 8 Like one who binds a stone in a sling, So is he who gives honor to a fool. 9 Like a thorn which falls into the hand of a drunkard, So is a proverb in the mouth of fools. 10 Like an archer who wounds everyone, So is he who hires a fool or who hires those who pass by.
He is unproductive and, therefore, an irritant.

The lazy one:

Proverbs 6:6 NASB95
6 Go to the ant, O sluggard, Observe her ways and be wise,
Proverbs 6:9 NASB95
9 How long will you lie down, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?
Proverbs 13:4 NASB95
4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made fat.
Proverbs 15:19 NASB95
19 The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, But the path of the upright is a highway.
Proverbs 19:24 NASB95
24 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish, But will not even bring it back to his mouth.
Proverbs 20:4 NASB95
4 The sluggard does not plow after the autumn, So he begs during the harvest and has nothing.
Proverbs 21:25 NASB95
25 The desire of the sluggard puts him to death, For his hands refuse to work;
Proverbs 22:13 NASB95
13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside; I will be killed in the streets!”
Proverbs 24:30 NASB95
30 I passed by the field of the sluggard And by the vineyard of the man lacking sense,
Proverbs 26:13–16 NASB95
13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! A lion is in the open square!” 14 As the door turns on its hinges, So does the sluggard on his bed. 15 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; He is weary of bringing it to his mouth again. 16 The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who can give a discreet answer.
v.27
Proverbs 10:27 NASB95
27 The fear of the Lord prolongs life, But the years of the wicked will be shortened.
Proverbs 10:27 BHS/WHM 4.2
27 יִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה תּוֹסִ֣יף יָמִ֑ים וּשְׁנ֖וֹת רְשָׁעִ֣ים תִּקְצֹֽרְנָה׃

Here are the results of being slack:

v.26b = shame to the sender
v.27b = shortened life (quality of life as well).
v.28b = what the wicked hoped for will not happen.
v.29b = he resists the way of the Lord.
v.30b = he will not survive in the land (of Israel-Exodus 20:12)
v.31b = he will have his tongue cut out.
v.32b = he will speak perversion, which produces great judgment.
