  1. Walking in darkness defined-I John 2:9, 15-17- can result in    
    1. Frustration in dealing with sin. Why? You’re in the dark!
    2. Denial of sin – 1:8, 1:10

  1. Walking in the light – defined- I John 1:17, 2:6 – results in
    1. Fellowship with one another – 1:7 – illustrate
    2. Purification from all sin -1:7. How? The blood of God’s Son, Jesus

  1. How can a Christian leave darkness and enter light? Confession I John 1:9
    1. Say same as God (without darkness) does
    2. Confess sins, not just one that annoys you
    3. Recognize God’s justice and faithfulness and accept forgiveness
    4. Accept and recognize purification from all unrighteousness
    5. Stay walking in the light
