Godly Faith or Cultural Beliefs?

Real faith is not an empty claim (14-17)

Can faith without works save? What type of faith can guarantee a favorable verdict? (v14)

Faith can’t be empty words (15-16)

This type of faith is DEAD!!

The dead lie still and doing nothing. So is it with a faith that lies still.

Real faith is not just the acceptance of a creed or acknowledgement of God. (v18-20)

Even Satan and his demons have an intellectual faith in God. (v19)

Mere knowledge of God is useless. (v20)

We can’t make God be what we want him to be. He is not your Homeboy, CoPilot, the Man upstairs. He GOD, SAVIOR, LORD.

Real faith produces an obedient life. (v21-26)

Abraham showed this by his faith and actions working together. (v21-24)

We are not justified by faith alone. This sounds in conflict with what Paul writes in Romans 3, but its not.

Rehab was completely the opposite type of personality compared to Abraham, but she showed her faith and actions working together as well. (v25)

Body can’t live without the spirit and Faith can’t live without works.
