1 Peter 1
1 Peter 1
to the chosen…dispersed residing temperary
according to the foreknowledge of God.. set apart by the spirit.
God came down into our depravity and paid the ultimate price, death on a cross. this testamony of Jesus is THE SPIRIT here that has set apart those he foreknew and is calling for obedience and for the sprinkling wth the blood of Jesus Chirst. Peter is asking God to extend grace and peace to them becuase of the hardship and trials they faced. the sprinkling of blood is an identification in the suffering that jesus has forgone. a suffering as a believers we will also go through.
“…blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… who has called us to be Born Again… thruogh a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
This is my title for this sermon. Hope for every Christian and it is in this verse 1 pet 1;3 that we see the Hope one that is in the new birth and call to obiedence in the things pretaining to that which he suffered for.
The hope we are living unto here is one that is buried and rooted in the great apostle Jesus Christ. its in his death, and how he counted this life worthless if one were to keep it but if one were to give up the things in this life for his name sake would only than be able to Keep his life and it be kept in heaven.
If Gods Power remains on you, it is his power that is keeping you through faith. We have his protection becuase his power abide on us for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last times.
though for a short time you have to struggle with these trials… be exceeding joyful because through every trial we are being refined into something pure like the process that gold undergoes.
This the Genuineness or your faith. your trials and the testing thereof.. amen. Faith is a funny thing remeber its through faith that we came to understand the one who brought us this far. he not going to leave us. He promises not to and niether will he forsake us. aman
and this is why verse 1;8 so well speaks to us. cuase we rejoice and and trust him now even though. “you have not seen Him...”
verse 9, obtaining the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. this word obtain, id like to look at it as securing the reward in heaven which will result in the salvation of our souls amen.
notice we are achieving this, and through fiath. like paul says in phippians reaching for the prize which lies ahead. Im sorry this prize is not a new PS5, new skidoo, or a 24’ boat and with a new 35 hp motor, its much better than that . it is of eternal value the salvation of your souls. amen.
and of this foreknowdege, utterances of the past, was all confirmed and spoken of in the past of Gods holy prophets.
about what about this hope every christian carries, “...about the Grace that would come to you.” and this Grace so searched and carefully investigated.
verse 12. there are things God has prepared for us to go thruogh that will involve so much glory and praise that even the angles too would desire to look into. living unto Him will only bring such occasions. Just as it was revealled to them that they were not serving themselves.
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as thay were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 peter 1 : 21)
no one has ascended into heaven… jn 3:13
Jesus was letting Nicodemus know something here of eternal weight, although he was here he was also in heaven. and the thing that he was here to do was more important. to a eternal valve. i catagory as believers we must consider. and See now more than ever.
1 Pet 1 :13 Therefore with your minds ready…with the grace brought to you set your
