Fear is the force that holds us back from moving forward. That fear of failure or stumbling or criticisms, which results in embarrassment is what most people baulk at. But Paul in his final exhortation tells the people of Corinthians to be courageous in their newfound faith. Doing something new or novel causes confusion. People like the status quo, i.e., do not rock the boat, keep it as it is.
