Handout
we are continuing talking about topic of FAITH
it is central and fundamental to a believer
so important to the life of a believer that the author of Hebrews 11:6 says that it is impossible please him
What is Faith?
We know the definition of faith also from Hebrews chapter 11 that faith is substance and evidence
In other words , how i like to phrase it
Faith in God means simply that you believe that God told you the truth
It is believing that God’s word is the truth or what God told you specifically that only concerns you is the truth.
everyone is given a measure of faith when you become a believer
which is an indication that that our faith must grow!
We must develop and increase our FAITH
God does not save us just to keep us from going to hell and put us on a path to heaven
But instead he saves us for a specific purpose to move you in a specific direction
which is part of his plan for your life and it takes FAITH to get there!
our faith must grow and increase or we will become stagnated.
Cant rely on what has happened in the past
we have to get to a place were we continue to grow.
some of us may think that we are growing but we really are not.
if we want to see our faith increase

Think More about God

Psalm 1:1–3 (NASB95)
1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
you will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water. What does that mean?
that means you will have a regular consistent supply of nourishment
the imagery hear in this text is clear
if you don’t meditate you wont get that nourishment
Hebrew word for meditate means to ponder, give serious thought and consideration but it also means to speak in normal tones so others can hear.
.We must take time for GOD. Meditating on his word and fellowshipping with him increases faith
illustration of Meditation through faith confessions
Faith confessions are a form a meditation when you do it daily
example use Psalm 91 and extract all of his promises and speak them into the atmosphere
concerning worry and fear or concerning finances or concerning direction and wisdom
you take the promises of God or whatever God calls you from that scripture and you declare it daily
I declare that I will find rest in the shadow of the almighty
I declare that the Lord is my refuge
and the All mighty God of my home
because of that No evil will befall me neither shall any plague come near my dwelling
what is most important is this
you must do your own speaking if you want faith to increase!
you can declare any of the promises of God
If you can find it in the bible and it is a promise of God it is yours!
Faith confessions are not the only way to meditate
MY Grandma knew the word real good because she memorized the hymnals and sung them constantly
So I want to just encourage you to really examine yourself and be truthful so see if you are really growing your faith
are we really experiencing the fruit of Psalms 1?
i am ready to pray for you now
