Philippians 4:6–7 NKJV
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

1. As Christians we are supposed to walk in faith that passes understanding, sadly we don’t.

Part of our witness to a lost and dying world is that the Holy Spirit lives inside us is that we handle life differently then others.
Christians all to often don’t spend enough time in prayer and bible reading to effect change how we respond to the world.
if we did people would want to know what we had.

2. Effective prayer is saturated with reality not flowery religious speech.

Philippians 4:6 NKJV
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
what are some things we worry about?
how often do we take these things to God before we phone a friend or post on social media.
we worry about our needs:
Rent
Children
Legal Situations
Jobs
family
romance.
friends
sobriety.
moving out
transportation

3. Keep your circle small (mind your own)

Proverbs 26:17 NKJV
17 He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own Is like one who takes a dog by the ears.
2 Thessalonians 3:11–13 NKJV
11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread. 13 But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.
1 Peter 4:15–16 NKJV
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.
For some reason people early in recovery have a hard time minding their own business.
Proverbs 26:17 tells us that messing in others lives is like garbing a dog by the ears.
2 Thessalonians 3:11-13
that being a busy body is disorderly.
