What is the church’s role?

“Song of Ascents” (Ps. 127) and the “Shema” (De. 6:4-9)

The church, not the family is the Bride of Christ.

We teach content, parents do the lab work.

We step in because we live in a fallen world.

We support, encourage, and resource you.

I am not the expert, but I commit to working hard to help you. There’s a lot of wisdom amid this congregation.

What is your vision for your children?

Happiness? Success?

Is it any different from your non-Christian friends and relatives?

“Gift/Heritage” but for who? [na-cha-lah] (Ps 127:3)

For you — a blessing — a “gift” from the Lord (NASB) For future generations — to be a blessing — a heritage Kingdom-building missionaries — in multitude of fields, professions

“What do you want to be?” —> “What is God’s calling on your life?” “What do I want you to be?” — >“What is God’s calling on your life?” A warrior and his weapon — DISCIPLINE Eph. 6

A warrior hones and sharpens his weapons. A warrior points his weapon in the right direction. A warrior releases his arrow. Doesn’t it make sense for the warrior to have many arrows at his disposal?
