Notes
Transcript

Intro- Good Morning Cope Members and we welcome all visitors as we get started this morning I ask that you turn with me in a few different places of scripture. our main text today will be out of (Ephesians 5:25-27) Ephesians 6:4 Duet 6:5-7

I ask at this time will all the Men who are fathers please stand to your feet. My Father always taught me if i was talking to someone and it was important look them right in their eyes. so this morning Fathers i am looking you right in your eyes. This is a very important subject we are talking about this morning. So before you sit down i want to tell you up front. I may read something or may say something that strikes a nerve with you, i just encourage you to understand i didn't write the Bible so the problem you have is not with me but with God. I also encourage you this morning to be honest with your self. if you are not honest with you this morning, if you decide to continue to lie to your self then you are only hurting that wonderful women beside you, you call your wife and those amazing kids you call son and daughter. this will be my last thing to tell you. i know men don't say this often to each other but that okay, I want you all to know as your pastor i love you all and want to see you become Godly men who raise warriors for the faith. that first starts with us. you may be seated.

1. Love your wife (vv 25)

The bible states for you to love your wife. but How?
Just as Christ loved the Church
How did Christ love the Church?
He selflessly came and served and died for the church!!
English Standard Version (Chapter 2)
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Philippians 2:5-8
This is the best example of Loving like Christ loved the Church.
I want you to remember something about this verse men. This verse love your wife. this verse does not have any condition attached to it.
this doesn't say if she cleans if she cooks if she allows you to come together often if she massages your feet if she doesn't nag.
this verse just says husbands love your wives. Men if you have a daughter she will more then likely marry a man like you. Men if you have a son he will be most likely just like you.
My question then would be Fathers would you want your daughters to marry a man like you? man who would treat her like you treat her mother? a man who will love her the way you love her mother? how about this Dads would you want your son to love his wife like you love his mom? talk to his wife like you talk to his mom?
Men you are the head of your wife and the leader of your home, but they're is a difference between worldly headship and Godly headship. also lets look at worldly submission and Godly submission
worldly Headship says: I am your head, so you take your orders from me and must do whatever i want.
Godly headship says : I am your head, so I must care for you and serve you.
Worldly submission: you must submit to me, so here are the things i want you to do for me.
Godly submission: you must submit to me, so i am accountable before God for you, I must care for you and serve you.
WE need to love our wife like Christ loved the Church. We also need to Raise our Child in the way they should Go. Turn with me to Ephesians 6:4 and also Deuteronomy 6:5-7

2. Raise your Children for God.

Read Ephesians 6:4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
7 out of 10 kids leave the church at the age of 18
Bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord: This does not mean merely scolding your children in the sense of admonition. It means to train and admonish. Encouragement and rebuke must be combined with training and teaching.
first lets look at training!
Training is falling away not only in the home but also the church.
