The Father's Blessing

Genesis 12:2 ESV

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

Numbers 6:22–27 ESV

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them, The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”

God’s people are called to be blessings to their generation.

God’s churches are called to bless the next generation:

Blessing: A favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness. The invoking of God's favor upon a person

Fathers are called to bless their children.

1. Touching in a meaningful way.

2. Speaking the message.

3. Esteeming the one being blessed.

4. Envisioning a special future.

5. Committing to fulfill the blessing.
