Because of his Death we can be healed from shame | Instead of Shame we can have…Hope. What is Hope? What is real hope?

You might be feeling Shame because of something you did, which is destroying the HOPE you should have for your future.

We have a choice to what we carry, and is what you carry, worth catching. We can carry Shame, Fear, Guilt, or we can carry Love, Faith and Hope - What ever you carry, is contegious - Good news ,is contegious. What Hope, do we have?

Pick up our story in day 3 - Mark 16 - Let’s pay close attention to their actions

The Resurrection

Mark 16:1–8 ESV

When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Mark 16:9–13 ESV

Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it. After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

They would not believe until they SAW - Is this us? When we can’t see, do we have trouble believing?

We know from Luke that Jesus had a personal appearance to Peter, but we don’t know what was said | Intended to be Private | Peter, even if I need to go to my death, and Jesus said no…you’re not | Peter was broken cause of it | Failure and shame has a way of making us feel like we are DONE |

1 Peter 1:3 ESV

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Born again | Made New | Not a Better Version. Let’s talk about HOPE

Proverbs: Hope deferred makes heart sick | No Hope, Hopeless | If Hope is in this world, no wonder people get depressed | What is power behind Hope? What is ours?

I can say “Hope you have a good day…” emma can say “I hope he does the dishes” - it’s never going to happen | What does it mean |

What does “Living Hope” Mean? Dumb luck? Has to be more | what tells you, if your hope is bedded in something real | The Word

Romans 15:13 ESV

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

What is Paul saying? I want God to FILL YOU with hope | it’s not, i really HOPE you have some joy.

Paul to the ephesians is asking them to give them the WISDOM and REVELATION of this HOPE - Of where it comes from - here:

Ephesians 1:17–21 ESV

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Whole passage is about HOPE.

The resurrection, if you believe it provides concrete hope for our lives.

There has to be POWER behind Hope that you believe - I can give you a fuzzy message but we need to get this

How does the Resurection play out in your life | is it a reality that effects your life…Today? | God has power to raise Christ, but is that all?

Do you have an Ever present reality to the power that raises jesus from the dead, Paul prayed that we would understand this - the same power, that raised Jesus Christ from the Dead is operating in your life. Same Spirit lives in you.

Practical

Where ever you need power in your life, Surrender it to God - God has provided it - Stop trying to control. Our Lord surrendered himself, so you could surrender yourself…and hope - to know the power of the resurrection is operating in YOU.

Our Lord came - put himself on the cross, 3 days later the stone was rolled away Jesus HAD RISEN | the POWER of GOD defeated the POWER of the grave | Why? For you!!

**Talk about the Death and Resurrection**

Where ever you need this power God has provided it | Cmon Church, Where is the victory, power, joy?

You have recieved sometihng that can NEVER perish | Fade, EVER

You can have VICTORY in your life TODAY | Marriage |Children, cmon, Jobs, Community | Stop letting the Devil kick us to the kerb every time he feels like it| You CAN HAVE THIS

I can do ALL thgins through chirst who gives me STRENGTH. Who gives me…HOPE.

Not just saved from Hell, but saved FOR a Purpose. if you submit

What if your hope became so contagious - What if your actions where so contagious that people just wanted to be around you.

God will do something IN YOU before he does something FOR YOU.

We have power on the inside, that isn’t controlled by something on the outside.

Can’t be Part Time Christians and want a full time God.

Are we going to keep walking around Jericho - Or we are going to know that the 7th time is coming - Blow Trumpets.

*Story of Gideon*

Isrealites - in the hand of Mideon - Why? They stopped Seeking

Gideon had 33,000 solders, get rid of fear (22,000), get rid of anyone who doesn’t lap (300 left)

So gideon couldn’t say it was him

God didn’t want any pride - But he wanted his obedience and he wanted to him to go to war

Paul, was chained up, in a prison he said this;

Philippians 4:6 ESV

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

He then sung hyms to the lord, on his death bed - The prison Shaked - The guard who was about to commit suicide came to christ.

I don’t know what you’re facing, but God will pull you through. Anchor your Hope in the Risen Jesus Christ!

Are we going to keep living in what ever Shame we have? Because we don’t have to | We can be healed from Shame and have HOPE.

Conclusion

Ready to be made NEW? Last week we spoke about Focus.

Take the focus off us, and the focus to who CHRIST IS.

I am not ____ because of Christ I am ____

I am not alone because of Christ I am Loved

I am not in Darkness because of Christ I am in the light

I am not broken, because of Christ I am Whole

I am a Sinner but because of Chrsit I am Forgiven

For me:

I am not enough, but because of Christ I am enough, YOU ARE: Loved, Chosen, Set Apart, because of Chirsts resurection I have Love, I have Faith, I have…HOPE.

I am not hopeless, because of christ I have hope

Christ in ME is enoguh, More than Enough | Shame does not hold me anymore, but I have HOPE in Jesus Christ

Remember isrealites. in Slavery, small little verse out of slavery

Joshua 5:9 ESV

And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” And so the name of that place is called Gilgal to this day.

No shame because of the RESURECTION of JESUS CHRIST. - You have been plucked from the darkness and put into the light!!!

Someone might have asid “Shame on you, shame on you” God saying “SHAME OFF YOU”

For me, I can’t fix everything, but I can say, Chirst died and he is rresurrected nd I have Hope.

Jesus Looked, saw through time, and saw you - He died so you could be made BRAND NEW - For your freedom, For your joy, for forgiveness, you are WHO CHRIST, the RISEN SON OF GOD SAYS YOU ARE!!

Walk in Power of Jesus Christ - Transform Homes | Marriage | Community | Yourself | Your Shame

We are told to what? Go make Disciples | Proclaim, go and equip - To go OUT!

We have Hope, in Jesus Christ.
