Invite fathers to join and pray for the revealing of His truths and our actions upon those truths
1 Ki 2:2-4
be strong; show yourself a man. 3 Observe the charge of Adonai your God to go in his ways and
keep his regulations, mitzvot, rulings and instructions
in accordance with what is written in the Torah of Moshe; so that you will succeed in all you do and wherever you go. 4 If you do, Adonai will fulfill what he promised me when he said, ‘If your children pay attention to how they live, conducting themselves before me honestly with all their heart and being, you will never lack
High bar
what is asked of us in these passages? Salomon was King, how did he fit this in?
Invite others to share this is work James 2
Lets look for some corporate and individual APPLICATIONS: places we can look in the mirror/ self evaluate to see how we are doing Jam 1:22.
Eph 5:25-33
As for husbands, love your wives,
just as the Messiah loved the Messianic Community,
indeed, gave himself up on its behalf, 26 in order to set it apart for God, making it clean through immersion in the mikveh, so to speak, 27 in order to present the Messianic Community to himself as a bride to be proud of, without a spot, wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and without defect.
possible reference for keeping the bar high. The application of Christ’s unconditional love for us is mirrored through our relationships, most evidently in our relationship with our wife. Why is that?
Christian maturity/growth (grow up into him who is the head, the Messiah, the church (corporate, too much focus on individual) grows and builds itself up in love) happens as we work under his control/power/strength to fulfill our function
Lets look at an example of another Christian maturity?
Phil 3:8-11
… I consider everything a disadvantage in comparison with the supreme value of knowing the Messiah Yeshua as my Lord. It was because of him that I gave up everything and regard it all as garbage, in order to gain the Messiah 9 and be found in union with him, not having any righteousness of my own based on legalism, but having that righteousness which comes through the Messiah’s faithfulness, the righteousness from God based on trust. 10 Yes, I gave it all up in order to know him, that is, to know the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings as I am being conformed to his death, 11 so that somehow I might arrive at being resurrected from the dead.
ENDING
Ecc 12:13-14 Here is the final conclusion, now that you have heard everything: fear God, (How? by personally knowing him) and keep his mitzvot; this is what being human is all about. For God will bring to judgment everything we do, including every secret, whether good or bad.
Phil 1:18
… All that matters is that in every way, whether honestly or in pretense, the Messiah is being proclaimed; and in that I rejoice. ...
Note: NT restates OT
Luke 5:16 However, he made a practice of withdrawing to remote places in order to pray.
as we do life together, Jesus shows us how to do it well.
Run the race in such a way … let’s pray
we want revival, reease from opression, know him read his word
