Galatians 5:13-26

Galatians 5:13–26 CSB
For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another. I say, then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I am warning you about these things—as I warned you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
We see here that Paul was still dealing with the Galatians in the matters of God are different than the way of the World. The way of God is of the Spirit the way of the World is not.
Crazy thing we are still dealing with this topic even today. When people say scripture is not relevant for today i shake my head.
Galatians 5:13–14 CSB
For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.
We are called to be free, we have seen this many times in the past few weeks. we are not bound to the law anymore. This doesnt mean that we can do what ever want want. This freedom is built around of faith and of our walk with the Spirit. There are going to be those who’s faith is not mature and still think they have to follow the works of the law. There will also be those who think im saved i can do anything now even unto sin. Thats a wrong mind set we need to be careful we dont fall into.

Love your neighbor as Yourself

Christianity true Christianity has proclaimed we are all equal under the blood. if you dont like someone because of their race or gender ( female) your heart needs a check. we are called to be like Christ.
Crazy athestic view of all eqaul— darwin servivual of fitest Only Christianity = Equal
Galatians 5:15 CSB
But if you bite and devour one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.

Our world today!!

Galatians 5:16–18 CSB
I say, then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
There are to pulls if we are blood bought the Flesh and the Spirit. We all have times when we fail, admit it. these verse lead too what is leading us. Are we being sheperded away from God or closer to him. We have to look at that closely in our lives.
Are we desiring the works of the flesh or our we living in the Spirit.

What are the works of the Flesh

Galatians 5:19–21 CSB
Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I am warning you about these things—as I warned you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
