Revelation 22:1–5 NKJV
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.
Introduction:
This section is the final scene of the celestial city. It is God’s final revelation of our inheritance and what those in Christ will realize.
Everything about this passage screams God’s sustaining life!
If there is anything to derive from this section, it is that God is the source of life and nothing else!
There are two main sections to this message today:

I. Life Sustained.

When we think of the things necessary for sustaining life in this world (which are pretty basic), there is not much of a difference in the spiritual world.
We can definitely point to three:
Water, Food, and Light
The first two are more obvious than the third, yet the third is also essential.
God describes these three in the heavenly kingdom, and yet they are different in their essence than what we use here.
A. Water of Life.
As water sustains life, the water of life from God sustains the immortal being.
It is pure - clear as crystal, the streets of gold.
The clarity describes the purity.
There is nothing else like it.
Nothing that contaminates.
Jesus, told the Samaritan woman abut this.
John 4:14 NKJV
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
B. The Tree of Life.
It presents it’s fruit every month (a different fruit), for nourishment and it’s leaves are for the healing of the nations.
C. The Light of the Lord.
It shines upon the redeemed and there is no need of any sun.
We find this typified in Genesis chapter one, when God says let there be light.
And again in John chapter one when it says that the Word (Jesus), is the true light that lights every man coming into the world.

II. Life Perfected

What two things would make life perfect?
Some would say more money, or some other earthly commodity. But the truth is, that more people who have acquired great earthly possessions, are still never satisfied.
I believe God provides here what everyone needs to find a perfect life, which some have found here on earth and have found as perfect a life as could be expected here.
But God provides it in His Heavenly kingdom.
A. No More Curse.
The throne of God and the Lamb shall be in it.
His servants shall serve Him.
B. An Intimate Interaction.
They shall see His face and His name shall be written in their foreheads.
Conclusion:
So w have life sustained, and Life perfected.
Is there anything else we really need?
Is Jesus enough for you?
Do we need to be preoccupied arguing and fighting, when there is hope and promise in Christ?
I give to you Jesus, the Author and finisher of our faith!
Let us follow Him!
