New Living Translation Chapter 40
6 A voice said, “Shout!”
I asked, “What should I shout?”
“Shout that people are like the grass.
Their beauty fades as quickly
as the flowers in a field.
7 The grass withers and the flowers fade
beneath the breath of the LORD.
And so it is with people.
8 The grass withers and the flowers fade,
but the word of our God stands forever.”
The Word of God Stands Forever
Breath - ruach
Word - logos
But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.
Peter explains that the Word of the Lord remains forever and that word is the Gospel, the Good News that was preached to you. The Good News that we have to tell everyone in the here in and now is the Word of the Lord that will live on forever. It is the eternal Word of the Lord.
Attached to the Word of the Lord are testimonies waiting to be written if we will but put our fait forward and find the owner of that gift of faith.
Many times over faith’s reward is us but we have yet to test the Word of the Lord. We just prefer to fade like grass rather than attach our fading lives to His living, eternal Word and watch is spring forth into new life.
Let His Word transform you and it will carry you from this age into the next. If not you will strive in your own strength to build in this age what will turn to dust in the next age. Your life will not remain.
God’s Word is eternal.
Your eternal word, O Lord, stands firm in heaven.
The man who built his house on the rock.
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.
But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand.
When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
God’s word is the law, the key is the law and not being a law breaker. Yet do not forget that Jesus is our righteousness.
