Building God’s temple
Building God’s temple
If you want something to last, you must be careful to build it properly. It requires that you a person thinks it through. Any task done haphazardly has a great chance of failure. So it is with God’s temple or did you forget Paul’s question? In 1 Cor 6:19 Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you?
Building the temple of God is the responsibility of every believer. It’s an on going process. It is a renewing of the mind that affects our actions. Paul also cautions how we build - 1 Corinthians 3:10-14
10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 13 each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.
So build with the intent on pleasing God.
In our scripture Solomon embarks on building a temple for God. We can learn from his process so that we can be headed in the right direction.
