Preparing, Raising the next generation
It’s been a key theme of Mather’s Day and Father’s Day
Raising “productive citizens” - that’s the job at hand
Contrary to some belief, this is not the job of the church, youth group, pastor, Awana clubs. We come along side to support the solid Biblical teaching at home
If it’s missing at home, kids will be confused
If the church is not teaching, but entertaining, kids will grow up confused
Already Gone statistics

Productive Citizens of Heaven

1) Highest goal/ambition, stand before God approved

Matthew 25:23 NASB95
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’
2 Corinthians 5:10 NASB95
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

2) Worker, unashamed

The best job to have is one you love (here, the term is agricultural)
Do you love to serve the Lord?
We are trying to train our children to love serving the Lord
Workers with no shame, meaning no fear of shame related to the quality of the work
CULTURE today is rewarding non-workers, unproductive citizens - sends a mixed message
Unashamed: Compare my carpentry with a skilled pro - I’d be “ashamed” - If I were to be diligent about the work, I could have my work approved
To be certified, need to have work inspected
Clubbers, we are training you to work for the Lord, in a way that He approves of

3) Accurately deliver the message of truth

Remembering - works are not what save us
Works show the salvation we have
A “non-working” Christian is an oxymoron
“Rightly dividing”
The truth is the Gospel, it is not to be distorted or perverted
That is a big challenge, and we deliver the truth every night at Awana
I know it runs counter to what they hear at school, at other church
So what, its the truth!

SUMMARY

This takes diligence - hard work, continual, patience, purpose, intention
God’s kingdom needs workers, not spectators, WORKERS
Culture today is overflowing with spectators
God’s kingdom is still welcoming all who will come
