Never Forget, Remember Part 4

Today we are looking again at the things about God we need to always remember. Now we all know that the one thing that is for certain in life is this, we are dealing with uncertainty all the time. Yes life is full of unexpected challenges. If we want to make a difference in any area, family, business, church, relationships, we will definitely hit obstacles and if we forget what the Word of God tells us it’s very easy to get under the circumstances. The end result could be devastating. Our faith could waiver, our joy can get zapped and we could stop fighting for what is worth fighting for. So let’s look at some key things of God that we always have to remember.

2 Corinthians 12:7–10 NLT

7 even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. 8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

1. God’s grace is enough for every challenge we face!

Paul writes here that the obstacle he faced was a messenger of satan that tormented him in order to keep him humble. Now some people say it was a sickness but that’s not what it says here, it says it was a messenger from satan that caused Paul grief. We know that everywhere Paul went and preached, there was major reaction in the negative. He was challenged and many times thrown into jail, and once even stoned and left for dead outside. So naturally Paul did what all of us would do, cry out to God not once, not twice, but three times and look at God’s answer to him. Three times God tells Paul that His grace is all he needed and His strength works best in weakness. It’s the same for us today. What ever challenges we face we need to remember that God’s grace is all we need and when we are at our weakest, God is at His strongest. Remember He’s on our side and if God is for us, who can be against us.

1 Corinthians 10:12–13 The Message

12 Don’t be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence. 13 No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.

2. God already has a way out planned for us!

This is a great promise to hold onto. Did you ever think that you’re the only one ever in the history of the human race that is going through this problem? That no one knows what you’re going through? Well when we think like that it’s a good indication that we’ve forgotten what we need to remember about God. The truth is, everybody goes through the same type of challenges in life. No one is exempt, in fact the New King James Version tells us the temptations are common to man. So what does that tell us about the enemy. He’s not very creative. He only has three ways to attack us, lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. The great news is this, that God already knows what we can handle and has already designed a way through the tough times to escape these situations. Always remember that if God is for us who can be against us.

2 Timothy 3:15–17 TPT

15 Remember what you were taught from your childhood from the Holy Scrolls which can impart to you wisdom to experience everlasting life through the faith of Jesus, the Anointed One! 16 Every Scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness. 17 Then you will be God’s servant, fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you.

3. The Word of God equips us for God’s work!

We are products of the way we think. Whatever we think that is what we do. So it makes sense that the Word of God changes the way we think in order for us to do what God wants. God’s word instructs us, corrects us, and helps us to constantly make the right decisions to live right for God. When we think right, we not only think that way when things are all good. We think this way all the time. We realize that God’s word is true and that what He says in His word He does for us. This gives us the strength to choose the unpopular way, the way that goes against anything that doesn’t represent God. Remember is God is for us who can be against us!

Hebrews 13:5–6 The Message

5 Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” 6 we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me?

4. God is our Helper and He will never leave us!

God’s grace is sufficient for any challenge we face, He’s planned our way out of our obstacles and He’s given us His word to equip us. But here’s the frosting on the cake so to speak. He never leaves us. We are never alone no matter where we are or what we’re going through. Oh it might feel like we’re all alone but the fact of the matter is that we are never alone. God is not only for us, He is with us and who can be against us with God on the scene.
