Creating Authentic Kingdom Encounters

1. Scriptural Foundation

A. Matthew 4:23

B. Jesus provided three things. He provided:

1. The proclamation of the Good News of the Kingdom

2. The proof of the Good News of the Kingdom

3. The principles of the Good News of the Kingdom

C. Let’s look at all three of these things

2. Let’s define the Kingdom of God?

A. Definition

1. Kingdom is the Greek word, basileia, which interpreted is rule, dominion, sovereign or government.

2. Hence, the Kingdom of God is where God rules, has dominion, is sovereign and has established His Government.

3. The only place where His Kingdom is fully established is Heaven

4. The world is a rebellious colony of the Kingdom of God

5. Jesus, the King of the God’s Kingdom, has tasked, we the Church, the Ecclesia, with advancing His Kingdom in the world.

B. Characteristics(Psalm 89:14; Isaiah 9:6-7; Romans 14:17)

1. Righteousness

2. Justice (Peace)

3. Joy

3. The proclamation of the Good News of the Kingdom

A. Why was proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom so critical

B. For the same reason it is today—it is the only cure for all the human misery evolving from all the consequences of fallen humanity including:

1. Diseases

2. Sicknesses

3. Poverty

4. Pestilences

5. Violence

6. Hatred

C. Therefore, when Jesus arrived with the good news that He was ushering in the Kingdom, it couldn’t have come at a better time.

D. However, this is the exact reason we Christ followers today must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom to our generation.

E. Despite all of our advancements, human misery has worsened.

F. And before leaving this section; I want to stress the Kingdom of God is the only solution for the woes of the world

G. Nothing the world has or can create can offer hope to human misery. Why not?

H. Because no human invention can fix the world. The world is irreparably and irreversibly damaged.

4. The proof of the Gospel of the Kingdom

A. When Jesus worked miracles and healed people, He provided proof of the Gospel News of the Kingdom

B. What did He prove? That the Kingdom of God possess superior power and absolute authority

C. Everywhere Jesus went He created authentic Kingdom encounters

D. Everywhere we go we should create authentic Kingdom encounters

E. Here are two notable authentic Kingdom encounters that Jesus performed

1. The Samaritans in Acts 8:4-8

2. Peter in Luke 5:1-11
