LUKE 8:4-8
When a large crowd was coming together, and those from the various
cities were journeying to Him, He spoke by way of a parable: 5“The sower
went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road, and
it was trampled under foot and the birds of the air ate it up. 6Other seed
fell on rocky soil, and as soon as it grew up, it withered away, because it
had no moisture. 7Other seed fell among the thorns; and the thorns grew
up with it and choked it out. 8Other seed fell into the good soil, and grew
up, and produced a crop a hundred times as great.” As He said these
things, He would call out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
LUKE 8:11-15
Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. 12Those beside the
road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the
word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved 13Those
on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with
joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of
temptation fall away. 14The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the
ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with
worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
15
But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the
word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with
perseverance.
HEBREWS 3:6
Christ was faithful as a Son over His house-whose house we are, if we hold
fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.
HEBREWS 3:12-14
Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil,
unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. 13But encourage one
another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of
you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14For we have become
partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until
the end.
HEBREWS 4:14
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the
heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
JEREMIAH 17:9
The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can
understand it?
MATTHEW 15:19
Out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications,
thefts, false witness, slanders.
ACTS 16:13-15
On the Sabbath day we went outside the gate to a riverside, where we
were supposing that there would be a place of prayer; and we sat down
and began speaking to the women who had assembled. 14A woman named
Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of
God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things
spoken by Paul. 15And when she and her household had been baptized,
she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord,
come into my house and stay." And she prevailed upon us.
EZEKIEL 36:25-26
Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse
you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26Moreover, I will give
you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart
of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27I will put My Spirit
within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to
observe My ordinances.
JEREMIAH 23:29
"Is not My word like fire?" declares the LORD, "and like a hammer which
shatters a rock?"
1 CORINTHIANS 15:9-10
I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because
I persecuted the church of God. 10But by the grace of God I am what I am,
and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than
all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.
JAMES 1:18a
In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth.
1 PETER 1:23
You have been born again not of seed which is perishable but
imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.
PSALM 16:3
As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the majestic ones in whom
is all my delight.
PSALM 126:6
He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed
come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
