The Son of God appeared for the purpose to destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8). When Jesus met satan's demons, He reversed their deadly effects with just His word. In such a visible, powerful, and undeniable way, He proved that the kingdom of heaven was at hand and that the forces of hell were doomed.
