What Must I Do? OBCSC Music Camp+ Summer 2021

Preliminaries:

This series of lessons will be used for two weeks of camp during the summer of 2021. Jr. High and Music Camp Plus. I will have to omit the final lesson on living the Christian Life as there is one entire less day of teaching. Otherwise, I will not further edit the material. For Music Camp Plus every camper is included.

Title: What Must I Do?

My goal is to make this series of lessons as personal as possible, at an appropriate level for the audience being taught. It is not "what must someone do to be saved?" But, what must I do to be saved. The Biblical witness must touch each student challenging them to make a personal decision to obediently follow Jesus Christ.

Topic: Salvation

Aim for life-change. It is not a game nor is it just an intellectual project. The goal of this series of lessons is the salvation of every participating student. The material should be presented in such a way that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit is able to move in each individual and the class as a whole.

Monday Hearing & Believing

Romans 10:17 ESV

17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Tuesday Repentance

Intro: Message of Repentance rings aloud from Genesis to Revelation.

Repentance Defined:

J.W. McGarvey "a change of mind, caused by a sorrow for sin, leading to a reformation of life."

2 Corinthians 7:8–10 ESV

8 For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it—though I did regret it, for I see that that letter grieved you, though only for a while. 9 As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. Thursday=Baptism

Introduction: Important?

• In the NT after the preaching of the Gospel every conversion culminates in Baptism

• There is a rich spiritual (theological) focus on the meaning, purpose, and results of baptism.

• Jesus likely walked 60-70 mies from Nazareth to Jordan river to be Baptized by John.

The Procedure for Baptism.
