How do we know what is right and what is wrong?
Are right and wrong always objectively right and wrong?
Do you consider yourself to be an ethical person?
Would you risk your life to save another person?
Would you jump into a deep river to save a drowning animal?
What should a person do if they find a wallet? What do people usually do? What would you do?
What are some ethical dilemmas you have faced?
Is stealing ALWAYS wrong? When is it right to steal?
How often do you lie? When is it okay to lie?
What makes a person act ethically or unethically?
If you saw a pickpocket stealing someone’s wallet what would you do?
Should poor people be punished for stealing if they are stealing to feed their family?
Why should we listen to the Bible for our morality?
Here’s my take. Without a standard there is no morality.
majority opinion doesnt work.
personal feelings dont work
relying on the legal system to legislate morality doesnt work
I think using love as your standard is also subject to complexity.
I think that the only way to know right and wrong is to study the standard and to work it out through a relationship with Jesus… knowing that we will get it wrong sometimes but leaving room for growth.
