The word of God.

* We are coming to a time…
Hint at the upcoming deliverance Revival.
The discussion that I had with John Ramirez.
Revelation 2:12-17 (ESV)
This is to the Church in Pergamum.
[12] “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: ‘The words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword.
[13] “I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. Yet you hold fast my name, and you did not deny my faith even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
[14] But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality.
Sidenote: Balaam is a demonic spirit in this dispensation that calls itself after the false prophet cited in Numbers 22.
I believe that John was referring to a demonic spirit that infiltrated the church of Pergamum.
[15] So also you have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
[16] Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth.
[17] He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Rev. 2:12 (ESV Study Bible) - Christ’s reference to the sharp two-edged sword proceeding from his mouth (cf. 1:16) forewarns that the church’s failure to discipline false teachers will prompt him to intervene directly (2:16).
#1. Two edged Sword refers to God’s swift judgement.
MacArthur Study Bible NASB (Commentary)
a sharp two-edged sword. A large, two-edged broad sword. It signifies judgment (cf. 2:16; 19:15) on those who attack His people and destroy His church.
#2. Two-edged sword. Refers to God’s Word, which searches hearts and judges the people that rebel against God.
Main Scripture References:
Isa. 49:2
Eph. 6:17;
Heb. 4:12;
Rev. 19:15).
#3. Sword - is a metaphor for the inevitable separation between those who believe in Christ and those who do not, even within a family
Not Peace, But a sword.
Matthew 10:34-39 (ESV)
[34] “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
[35] For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
[36] And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.
[37] Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
[38] And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
[39] Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Take his cross (cf. 16:24). A Crucified is when a disciple denies himself (die to self-will), takes up his cross to (embrace God’s will, no matter the cost), and follow Christ.
#4 The two edged sword can represent the cutting off of sin from our lives. It is also how we overcome temptation. See Matt. 4.
It’s time to cut sin out of our lives! The foundation of Spiritual Warfare.
Matthew 18: 7-9 (ESV)
7) “Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes!
8) And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire.
9) And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.
What are one of the primary ways that we engage in Spiritual Warfare? Let’s look at Ephesians 6.
Ephesians 6:16–17 (ESV)
In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
Deliverance and Exorcism.
-Deliverance is the pulling down of strongholds, curse breaking and the expelling of demons.
- The word exorcism is derived from the Greek word exorkizein which means "to bind by oath.”
- The term“exorkizo” which is used in the Septuagint Bible, and refers to adjuration, or expulsion.
-Seven of the 16 chapters of Mark, 44% of the chapters, deal with the demonic, including chapters
1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 16.
Probable the most popular passage is found in Mark 5. That’s where we find a man possessed with a Legion of devils.

#5 The two edged sword (the word of God), divides soul and spirit.
Read Hebrews 4:12 (ESV) -
Man is a tripartite (trinity) being of spirit, soul and body.
Demons can reside within any area of the tripartite nature of an individual.
Spirit – It is Impossible with a true Christian believer. Possession in the spirit is rare even with non-believers. The individual is pretty much gone at that point.
Soul - Is the mind will and emotions of an individual. Also known as the consciousness. This is the area that demons mostly occupy within the life of a believer. In fact, spiritual warfare is primarily waged in the soul of a man.
Body – Spirits of infirmity, sickness, and disease can demonize a person with a legal right.
Talk about your experiences:
The insanity.
The mental institutions.
Waking up in Hell
The Sacrifice
The principalities.
Conclusion: The Great Commission:
Mark 16:15-18 (ESV) - And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
16) Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17) And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18) they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
We need to win the lost and set the captives free!
If we don’t do these things we will become a powerless church!
