Sometimes it can easy to sit back and relax in our blessings, freedoms. But when God is Lord, we need to expect to move.
Hope to demonstrate this
Explain a little about where our Lord came from.

Context:
The people of God have been delivered from Egyptian Slavery, gone through a period of disobedience and dilervance, and set up a king for the tribes of Israel.
The first King Saul has perished in war and his dynasty has been destroyed by his former enemies.
The people of the tribe of Judah, David’s have already chosen David as their leader. 2:3
The people choose David to be there next king, because he had been annointed to the task ealier by the prophet Samuel, had served the people before in battle, and was strong and righteous military tactician.
2 Sam 5:1-5, 9-10
1 Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, “Behold, we are your bone and flesh. 2 In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And the Lord said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over Israel.’ ” 3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord, and they anointed David king over Israel. 4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. 5 At Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and at Jerusalem he reigned over all Israel and Judah thirty-three years.
9 And David lived in the stronghold and called it the city of David. And David built the city all around from the Millo inward. 10 And David became greater and greater, for the Lord, the God of hosts, was with him.

2 Sam 7:12-13
2 Samuel 7:12–13 (ESV)
12 When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
Do you know who is the most important decendant of David?
Rev 22:16
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
Ill
Getting out of the way of the king in checkers.

Remember: Jesus is the fullfillment of the promise God made to his descendants that David’s kingdom would be established forever.
David Moved the Capitol to the City of David (Jerusalem) (v.9-10)
David Moved the Capitol to the City of David (Jerusalem) (v.9-10)
9 And David lived in the stronghold and called it the city of David. And David built the city all around from the Millo inward. 10 And David became greater and greater, for the Lord, the God of hosts, was with him.
Exp:
David travels 20 miles North
David battled the Jebusites, took the stronghold and called it the city of David.
God was with him.
Ill:
David caught peeping during the time when kings go out to war.
App:
Faithful Christian life is characterized by moving in and taking over what God has assigned to you.
It can be easy to rest easy. But it makes you vulnerable to sin.
David went in and took out the former inhabitants of Zion. It couldn’t be ruled by them and him.
So, beleiver, if you aren’t making any moves for the Lord, maybe you are the Lord of your own life instead of Christ. There can’t be two.
When the Lord comes into your life expect to move!
