The scripture passage clearly states that the man went into the temple and prayed this prayer to himself and not to almighty God.

Luke notes the purpose behind the passage, "To those who were convinced of their own righteousness and despised everyone else."

Think about this in context of today's paper, "Every other day a child is killed by an accidental gun death. " According to the United Nations 21,000 people die everyday from starvation. Over 8,000 kids die from Hunger related problems. Yet those who control the media are convinced of their own righteousness will tell us what to think or what is most important.
