7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

6 Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies, 7 for he is like one who is inwardly calculating. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you. 8 You will vomit up the morsels that you have eaten, and waste your pleasant words.

If we don’t understand the passage, we derive the wrong meaning. We have the wrong application. Then we get mad that the passage didn’t work. God failed us. So we stop trusting in God and trust in the strategies of the world.

1 Timothy 1:14–16 ESV

we live our lives as a pattern, as an example to those who are going to believe.

His pattern of life was not his gifting , but Christ’s longsuffering with him. God exalts those that need him the most.

The other way to say it, Whom God uses much, he wounds much.
