Introduction

If we could think like anyone else, we should choose to think like Jesus. Jesus lived for us. Died for us. Rose for us. Ascended for us and has empowered us by the Holy Spirit to think like Him. The Apostle Paul says that if we have faith in Christ, we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16). That means that we have a mind that is able to discern God’s will; a mind able to differentiate between right and wrong; a mind that is directed by the Word of God.
[ILLUS] Many people giving directions to our minds
Many different entities are trying to direct your mind. Your family, this culture, that news channel, or that other news channel—so many different entities are trying to direct your mind! It’s gets confusing!
Jesus never had that problem because His mind was perfectly directed by only one perfect thing—the will of the Father—or as we more commonly refer to it, the Word of God.
The Word of God is His law, His commandments, His testimonies, and His precepts. The psalmist in 119 commits himself to a mind and a life directed by the Word. He is not perfect like Jesus, but he is committed because He loves God’s Word.
Do you love God’s Word?
Are you committed to ordering your mind on God’s Word?
Are you committed to obeying God’s Word and hating every false way that stands against it?
